GALLERY PODROOM, CULTURAL CENTER OF BELGRADE 28.01 – 04.03.2021
The exhibition Femkanje – Spaces of Togetherness consists of two parts: a sound installation in the gallery space and a new online sound database. The sound installation consists of all the 88 realized Femkanje shows that are mapped onto 18 speakers. The entire installation is accompanied with the list of all the shows and guests, starting from the most recent. Femkanje episodes were previously broadcasted on NOFM radio and published online in the period from March 2013 to February 2018.
Femkanje is a podcast, art and media project, dedicated to contemporary art and culture in Serbia, the former Yugoslavian region and Europe. Focus is on the models of independent production and self-organization in contemporary culture, as well as on media visibility and gender equality in the representation of its actors. Its founders, Bojana S. Knežević and Katarina Petrović, realized numerous shows presenting comprehensive overviews of practices by individual authors or collectives through longer intimate conversations. Guests come from different fields: visual and sound arts, (experimental) music, dramatic and applied arts, activism, education and science. Therefore, Femkanje becomes a network of contemporary, independent cultural and artistic scenes, following the movements of its two authors.

ART OR PACT: PERFORMANCE, PERFORMATIVITY AND DOCUMENT SULUV GALLERY NOVI SAD, 2018
Femkanje Open Mic is a media intervention, an invitation to participate and an ongoing live stream. Based on the idea of unlimited trust (up to 5Gb and 30 min free talk) and equality (no discrimination!), our work aims to once more (and now even more inclusively) open the space for free speech and artistic agency while keeping the participant’s anonymity. At the times of saturation and media darkness, fake news and information bubbles, Femkanje reacts by enabling a safe zone for expression. Pushing the borders of radio and (artistic) space, the installation effectively surveills the soundscape of a gallery. We invite multiple outlooks, contrasted perspectives and various concerns to be spoken out. Come to SULUV and share your voice!
24th edition of the International Festival of Computer Art MFRU, which was organized around the topic of Trust . 3, took place at numerous locations in Maribor. In the art space UGM STUDIO Femkanje presentet a new artwork, a media intervention with the title Femkanje Open Mic.
